轉生做設計但GPT跑不動
AI image generation is transforming the landscape of architectural education, reshaping how students imagine, express, and share spatial concepts. This exhibition highlights the practical applications of three key technologies—AI, parametric design, and digital fabrication—in teaching, showing how the new generation of designers learns to translate abstract ideas into tangible results through technology and precise language.
Spatial Narrative
Students begin with writing exercises, aiming to articulate details such as environmental context, social structures, and spatial logic. These descriptions become essential vocabulary for AI image generation. The process goes beyond writing itself, involving numerous class discussions where students critique, reflect, and gradually develop their own design narratives.
Scenario Making
When moving into image production, students focus on the use of “prompts.” They apply three approaches—categorical, in-depth, and parametric—to match different textual contents. This trains them to systematically deconstruct spaces and describe light, shadow, and materiality with layered precision. Prompts are continuously revised, reordered, and tested across platforms, significantly enhancing students’ ability to narrate space and refine their ideas iteratively. Image generation is no longer a one-off result but part of a cyclical process of “generation – review – refinement – regeneration,” through which the most ideal outcomes gradually emerge.
Fabrication Practice
The work does not stop at the image stage. Students are also challenged to materialize their spatial visions using parametric design and digital fabrication. Through 3D printing, laser cutting, and computer-aided machining, they integrate code and digital tools to transform what once existed only on the screen into three-dimensional architectural prototypes. From overall form to detail and texture, each work corresponds back to spatial narratives, while students also learn the operational flow between fabrication and simulation.
In this era of human-machine collaboration, architectural design is no longer a linear process with a single output but instead a complex, intertwined, and regenerative sequence of stages. We warmly invite you to witness how the next generation of designers creates their own path in spatial design—moving from nothing to something, from virtual to real—through fresh technologies and perspectives.
